Durable personalised iron-on labels for clothing, school uniforms, sportswear, nursery items, and everyday garments. An easy to apply iron-on label, washable up to 60°C, with proven reliability over many years. For boarding schools see SEW-ON Labels.
Personalised Iron-On Labels provide a quick and convenient way to keep clothing clearly named and easy to identify. They are particularly well suited to cotton and polycotton fabrics, making them a practical choice for school uniforms, everyday clothing and other suitable garments. Clearly labelled clothing is easier to identify and return when misplaced. This is particularly useful at schools, where uniforms, jerseys, sportswear and other garments can quickly accumulate in lost property. A clearly printed name helps teachers, school staff and other learners identify the owner and return the garment. Iron-On Labels are applied using heat to create a secure bond with the fabric without the need for sewing. Each label can be personalised with the information required to identify the garment and its owner. When correctly applied, the labels are washable up to 60°C and have provided families with a reliable clothing-labelling solution for many years. Iron-On Labels are best suited to cotton and polycotton fabrics that can tolerate the required application temperature. For heat-sensitive, stretch or other suitable flexible surfaces, consider our low-temperature Magic Clothing Labels. For boarding-school clothing, traditional 100% cotton Sew-On Labels are generally the more appropriate choice. Many boarding schools specify sewn-on name labels for uniforms and clothing handled through communal laundry systems, where conventional Iron-On Labels may not be suitable. Always follow the individual school's labelling requirements when preparing clothing for boarding school.
Iron-On Labels Supplied in a continuous strip. Cut the label to the required length before application. Set a dry iron to 140°C–170°C, approximately the cotton setting on most irons. Do not use steam. Place the Iron-On Label face up on a clean, dry garment. Use a firm surface and press firmly with the hot, dry iron for approximately 10–15 seconds. Allow the label to cool completely, then check that it is securely bonded and that all edges are sealed. If the label has not bonded properly, increase the temperature slightly and reapply. There is no need to place fabric between the iron and the label. If you choose to use a piece of fabric between them, less heat will reach the label and the application time may need to be increased to approximately 30 seconds. Customer tip: Some of our customers have successfully used a hair straightener to apply Iron-On Labels. This can be a convenient alternative to a household iron, particularly on smaller garments or areas that are difficult to position on an ironing surface. Always ensure the fabric is suitable for heat application.
